Inspired Home Office

Are you ready to lighten your load?

Make a fresh start.

If your office has stuff in it you wish you could deal with once and for all, you're not alone.

You may have tried to simply ignore it. You force yourself to work there anyway. You add to the piles, hoping that you'll find the important stuff in there when you need it.

You secretly know it's not working.

Your office is talking to you.

Your office knows you pretty well. If it could talk, here's what it might say:

"Please spend time with me."

Your office wants more of your time than simply working at your desk. It wants you to make a date with it so you can have a two-way relationship.

"Pamper me."

Perhaps it wants to lose a few pounds of clutter. Or maybe it needs you to exfoliate a layer of dust.

Whatever your office needs, it's been waiting for you to make an effort.

"Bring friends."

A lot of self-employed people would try to go it alone on a project like this. But it can be easier and a lot more fun to get support from people who understand.

Plus, your office knows you've been avoiding bringing people around. It would love some company.

Introducing the Office Spa Day:

A two-hour teleclass that massages away your most pressing pile

The Office Spa Day is an opportunity to make visible progress in your workspace. It will bring you relief from overwhelm and begin to create a nurturing work environment.

You get a guided, two-hour work session that includes hands-on time with your most persistent pile.

The Office Spa Day was extremely effective - I've never had an organizing experience like that in my life! I cleaned out an entire drawer of my filing cabinet - I mean we're talking auto insurance declarations that go back to like '97... I got out a screwdriver and fixed this thing, I put books on my shelf...

I wasn't so sure how much organizing I was even into doing today - SO for me to have blasted through the stuff I did was totally amazing.

It made the project - which felt like a big messy, boggy, icky thing - into something that I could do. I accomplished the first thing in that project within the first three minutes - so I had momentum immediately because I'd broken them into such small steps.

You will discover:

  • What makes a pile accumulate - and why it's actually a good thing
  • The three steps to making a pile disappear - along with your overwhelm
  • The magic box of questions that helps you get unstuck (if you get stuck)
  • The magnet that will draw you into your space with enthusiasm and make you feel like working

What you'll get:

  • A self-defined goal for your work session: The process I use will help you identify the right-size task for the time allotted.
  • At least 60 minutes of focused work time: Instead of hoping you'll "get around to it", signing up for this class allows you to schedule the time you need to work on your office. And actually do it.
  • Total support: While you're working, I remain on the call. If you get stuck or have a question, I'm available during the work sessions.
  • Fun and camaraderie: Participation is limited to six people so that you get plenty of customized attention and feedback. Because everyone on the call is in the same boat, there's a shared spirit, momentum, and enthusiasm that makes the work more enjoyable.
  • A next-step goal to take with you and use: Knowing specifically what you need to do next makes it easier to get visible results in your space.

The biggest thing for me from the Office Spa Day was the minimization of the distractions. I never even thought about how many times I sit down in my office to even do the most basic things - and my husband and my kids come in. And I realize that this time to just focus really helped me to get into the groove and get way more done than I thought would.

I thought I'd only going to get this one pile done. Well, I did it. And then I got this whole other thing done, too. And all of the sudden, the hour goes by and I've got this whole stack of letters I need to mail - and all these things entered in that are filed...

By getting rid of all the distractions and just focusing on this for that length of time, I can see my desk now, (laughing) which is really... nice! I feel like I could go for another hour!

How it works:

Call in: After you sign up, you get a telephone number and pass code that will allow you to join the conference call.

Check in: On the call, we'll do brief introductions so that we can hear everyone's voice.

Goal setting: You'll identify a goal you'd like to accomplish through a unique process.

Work time 1: Then you'll begin working on the tasks you chose, things like sorting, decluttering, shredding, recycling, reorgainzing.

Mid-point check in: We'll have an optional mid-point check in to see how you're doing and get support.

Work time 2: Continuing to work - or, if your goal was met, starting a new task.

Wrap-up: At the end, we'll meet to celebrate your successes and identify a next step to help you keep the momentum going.

Bonus! One person will win a Spa Kit of natural body care products. This package of nurturing goodies can be customized for men or women - and is generously donated by Kristen Schutter, a consultant for Arbonne International.

I had hoped by taking Jen's Office Spa Day that I might make a small dent on a very large mess.

Boy, was I amazed. Jen gave me some tools to use in working through my piles, gave me some great tips on how to manage a pesky project that was taking over my desk, and suggested a new way to think about my to do list. I was so inspired that I just kept on working until it was done.

I love how organized my desk is now. I found some forgotten gift certificates and a document that I thought I would have to pay to replace. The class ended up paying for itself! Thanks so much Jen! My desk looks great!

What you'll need:

  • Two uninterrupted hours, a pad of paper, and a pen. A land-line phone is preferred.
  • You'll also need a workspace to work on - whatever yours looks like. If you have a dedicated office, that's great. If you're like many people who share their work area with other purposes (guests, kitchen, kids, etc.), the Spa Day is perfect for you, too (and possibly more critical!).
  • Lastly, you'll need just a vague idea of what you want to work on in your work space. Do you have a pile, a file drawer to clear, a bookshelf to sort, etc.? If you're not sure, the process I guide you through will help you get really clear.

Are you ready to start?

But if it's something I cannot fix, I extend to you the Inspired Bookworm 90% Guarantee.

When Jen helped me with my office several months ago, I was amazed at how many useful and creative ideas she had for improving my office space. I would NEVER have thought of at least half of them! I made huge strides toward getting my office more manageable.

One thing I deeply appreciate is her perspective on an 'inspiring office' as compared with a designer-beautiful office. I was thinking I should have the beautiful office, and it's pretty clear I'm not cut out for creating that. But an 'inspiring office' -- that I can do!

I signed up for the Spa Day because I had hit a plateau and wanted to take another step toward my ideal office. I had accumulated some piles of paper (and other treasures!) that had become stale, almost invisible, and an energetic drag.

In just two hours I got them all taken care of -- collected, sorted, filed, round-filed, resolved. Woo-HOO! I have renewed, revitalized energy to tackle other tasks that have been on my do-list for too long. It's been a great jump-start to a higher level of action. And it's a lot more effective for my business!
